So as a typical night out on a saturday would go we of course ended our night in the kebab shop. I looked around and instead of seeing the usual drunkards with smudged makeup and laddered tights i saw 2 visions of 1940s classic glamor in blood red lipstick and perfectly styled set curls.. My curiosity got the better of me and i had to ask them what they were up to..They turned out to be members of the band The Bugle Babes who are a trio who cover songs by such groups as The Andrew Sisters. The girls were so nice they both even preformed a little song for me.. Was so cute:)..they are really worth checking out:)
Ok well really only exciting to me but hey its my blog so i thought i would share:)...Ok so a few weeks ago one of my favourite big YouTube personalities Paperlillies posted a video all about the amazingness of cupcakes..She ask people to go off and make their own cupcakes send her their creations so thats what me and my friend did..it all was going well until we realised that we had no cupcake tins:(...Disaster struck as none of them held there shape and grew into the strangest of shaped cupcakes..It would be a waste to throw them away so we decorated them anyway to fit their shape..Check out her post of the pictures at her blog (http://misslilies.blogspot.com/) and check out her youtube videos too..she is really funny and creates some amazing art work:)
Working on a new project in college. Its going to deal with nostalgia and your inner child and what not. Really its more of an excuse for me to go to the park and play:)..My friend Bud is a photography student so he helped with the photos. Ill then work on them myself to find the best way to transfer the idea to ceramic.
This is just a project we were working on in college last week...theres a long story behind it but too boring to explain..lets just say it has to do with a pocket watch and an old pair of tights:P...Its what i get in the end thats important tho..I like it because it reminds me a trunk of a tree..A glaze still has to be applied but still trying to figure out what and i need to figure out a saucer.
Im more excited now about the new project that we have been assigned which is completely up to ourselves:)..Im going to base mine on nostalgia and hopefully create some interesting funtional hand made pieces..Keep ya posted:)
So today in college they held like a mini craft fair (so mini there was only 3 stalls:P) and one table really caught my eye. The table was just completely cover in amazing and different buttons and ribbons! It was so hard to decide which to get , couldn't get many as funds are disastrously low at the moment. In the end i chose a pack of sweet blue bow buttons which i love and a reel of white ribbon.
I really admired her whole stall layout and each item came with a business card attached which is a really good idea. Through her etsy and her blog I found out she actually redesigns old clothes for people and also does graphics. Its nice to find such an interesting talent so locally around. Hope some day i could grow a business with as many different design elements.
