Busy Busy Busy

So after all my good intentions the blog was put on the back burner for a while. I thought it might be nice though to reflect on what has been keeping me so busy this July!

For the past few months I have been interning with the Crafts Council of Ireland and it has been amazing since I started. I am constantly working on new projects and many of them were coming to their end in July as I am coming to the end of my internship (next week! Buh!). One of those final projects was the IDEATE Festival, a 2-day craft and design festival in Kilkenny. It was amazing experience to work alongside the festival manager even though neither of us could stand by the end of it as we were running around so much! I even had the opportunity to run an exhibition from concept development to finished installation as part of the festival.

My amazing friends came to visit me during the festival and we got to try some amazing beer tasting trays in this great craft beer pub in Kilkenny Brewery Corner .My friends are pretty big into their beer so to say they were excited is an understatement, they was some pretty tasty ones on there.

After IDEATE my brain and body was drained of all life, a break was definitely needed. I did a lot of hanging out with aforementioned amazing friends; going to the beech, drinking iced coffee and general arsing about.
The month tied off in a trip over to visit Anthony (the boy :P he hates when I call him that!) in Stoke on Trent. Stoke is not the most exciting of places so he made the best decision of the weekend and rented a car. It was great to get out and see the countryside as we have never ventured out that way before and do some camping, as it is something we had been meaning to do the past 3 years! All was going well until the biggest thunderstorm I have ever experienced decided to hit us that night! Of course we weren't in our tent when this happened so we ended up trudging through fields and fields in the dark and rain to get back, rivers had formed in places paths once were! We eventually did find our way back but the tent was so loud and shaky we were glad of that rented car. Surprisingly comfortable to sleep in!  Was a great trip though all the same, the only thing we could do was laugh at the fact the one time we go camping it decides to rain 10 hours straight!

Sorry this post is a bit waffly! Fair play if you have made it this far.

Since today is the beginning of a new month I thought it might be an interesting experiment to try do a blog post everyday in August. I think it will be a good way to push my boundaries and see what I really enjoy writing about, no theme just something up here everyday. I was inspired by Gemsmaquillage 's idea to vlog everyday on her youtube channel with the hashtag #AwesomeAugust. I am going to use the same hashtag and just not worry too much about what I’m posting and just post it!

Would love to see anyone else taking up the challenge! Also if you don't already follow Gemsmaquillage I highly recommend you do if you are into beauty, food, clothes and just honest chats.
