Considered Range Dunnes Stores

If you’re Irish Dunnes Stores is a bit of an institution you would be aware of in some form or another. But for many it wouldn’t be known for its trendy homewares or design. In recent months though Dunnes has experienced a bit of a revival with some interesting designer ranges from the likes of Carolyn Donnelly and Paul Costello. Within these ranges you can snag some great finds but their most recent launch is the one that has got me most excited. Helen James is a designer and cook and has teamed up with Dunnes to create her own range called Considered.

She has focused on good food, classic kitchen pieces and some stationary thrown in too. Lots of copper, brown paper, industrial style and deep red accents, right up my street! She even has a great little food blog on the site too. Some of my favourite pieces from the range are the copper pots that are slightly out of my price range but I was able to pick up a few other great pieces instead.

I couldn’t resist the cute measuring spoons for only €5, I hope they encourage me to bake a bit more but if not I know they will look the part in my kitchen anyway. The best value in the range and something I am planning to repurchase is the Root Ginger candle. All the candles in the range are created to work with a kitchen so have great fresh foodie scents. Root Ginger is a great strong scent but I’m also going to have to get my hand on Lemon Balm and Mandarin Rind one of these days.

Lastly I can never have enough stationary; I can always talk myself into needing another card or notebook so this range didn’t help stop that. The Thank You cards actually did come in handy when I finished up in work and you can mix and match the patterned envelopes. I couldn’t leave the notebook behind with the sweet little saying “Good things take time” and the beautiful matte red cover.

Unfortunately the range isn’t available in all Dunnes Stores but you can buy online and they will deliver free to your closest store!

Any stores surprising you lately? The hight street is coming up with some gems lately.
