Podcast Favourites

Living the idyllic rural life sounds great and it is the majority of the time but sometimes it involves getting to know the inside of your car very well. A short journey in my car at the moment to get where I need to be is about 3 hours at a time so podcasts are essential to keep my sanity. Podcasts are really having their moment right now and there are some amazing ones popping up everyday no matter what you’re into. Here are some of my top picks from the past few months.

I have talked about Being Boss on the blog before in a monthly favourites but it is still up there as one of my faves. It is a podcasts for creative entrepreneurs but I think even if you aren’t a freelancer or work for yourself they chat so openly about life balance that every kick ass boss lady can take something from it.

In the same vein as Being Boss Jenny chats about becoming self employed and all that comes with it. If you are interested in working for yourself or general blogging things it’s really great. My favourite episode lately was balancing working for yourself and relationships.

The guys behind Ear Biscuits Rhett & Link are known for slapstick comedy youtube videos. I have been watching them for years and when they started a podcast I thought it would be the same style but actually they took a different spin. They chat in depth with other Youtubers about how they got their start and generally dish out some solid life advice.

Jess Lively has been high ranked in the podcast scene for a while now and only right. She covers a wide range of topics from blogging, money, motherhood and wellness but all coming back to the idea of everyday intention. I alway feel a bit more positive after listening in on her podcast.

This is a shared favourite between myself and Anthony and the first podcast we pop on for any long journey ahead of us. If you are a fan of the show Myth-busters you know Adam Savage as one of the main guys from the show and he as a person is so interesting. This podcast is him and a group of other nerdy guys basically just chatting about movie reviews, new comics and general nerdy things (All The Martian episodes are so fun as they are all so into in and excited as we were!)

This is a new one I have only got into in the past week but I have really enjoyed what I have listed to so far. The Headspace app is a meditation app so the podcast talks with experts about how the mind works and why we do the things we do. Some recent episodes look into retail therapy, mindful eating and the science of stress.

If you check out any of these podcasts let me know what you think! And if you have any recommendations pass them on as I am always on the hunt for a new favourite.
